We have customers who have their email hosted with
Google Apps, i.e. they get the seven Google MX
records set for their domain; we serve customer dns
with tinydns. In the past week several of them have
reported an inability to receive email from Yahoo
senders who report bounces that show:

    CNAME lookup failed temporarily. (#4.4.3)
I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

As far as I can tell this is caused by running a version
of qmail without the big-DNS patch. Running dnscache as
the cache server sounds like it is also a fix. So perhaps
they have mistakenly begun deploying mail servers built
around qmail without big-dns or have just begun switching
off dnscache (if they were running it previously).

Has anyone else seen this or know of someone at Yahoo
to contact about this type of issue? They appear to
be as impossible to contact as google when you need help.

There are a few contact forms available if you go to Postmaster | Yahoo! Postmaster Help and click the "Contact Us" at the top of the page.
