windows live mail crashed

My windows live mail crashed. I'm searching yet can't find it. What are the folder and file names? The folders are missing. Can a crash cause my files and folders to be deleted?

I'd start with a system restore. If your computer seems to be in that bad shape I'd restore back a couple days and make sure your virus scanner such as Avast are up to date, and run a malware scan.
