I got the error "the messages could not be filtered to folder "hot topic" because adding a message to it failed....."
I As it was fetching my mail, I was getting this pop up error on every single email that would have been filtered to a folder.
The error message suggested doing a folder repair so I went in and did a repair on all of my folders. After that, I ran the message filters "run now"
After I repaired the folders, I was able to get it to sort the emails that should have been sent to folders to the proper folders.
Step by step instructions:
Right click on your first folder
click "properties"
click "repair folder"
follow the previous steps for each folder you have
When you're finished, click "tools" and then "message filters"
be sure all folders have a check mark in the box next to them and click on "run now" and all emails should sort to the proper folders.
