    Hello,

Do you want to have email accounts under the same domain hosted by different email services?

"My wife and I share a domain based on our family name. She wants to use Google Apps, and I don't, so I had to find a way to host two addresses on the same domain with different providers reliably."

Try a service such as Tuffmail that supports "split domain routing". You'd think an email forward from one provider to another would do the trick, but it helps to find a service such as Tuffmail that follows Google's best practices for forwarding email.

In the above situation the email forwarding works reliably because Tuffmail employs SRS rewriting so as not to break SPF, which is important for anyone forwarding mail to Google. Tuffmail is able to follow all those best practices including tagging suspected spam.
