I want a single purpose e-mail address. I could create yet another gmail account, but it's painful to switch between them. Maybe a yahoo alias, but I don't have any experience with them. Does Hotmail or aol have aliases? Can you recommend/suggest something else?

    Hello,

If you buy your own domain name you'll have a virtually unlimited number of email alias possibilities within your domain.

Thanx, popwich. Great idea when I have a little extra scratch. But for now I'm looking to use one of the (free) e-mail services.

Use Yahoo. It's very simple to use and when you are sending an email you can select which name you use for each one.

You're welcome and as always, you can upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus to get a few added features:

    -no ads

    -offline access with POP

-200 filters vs 100 for the free version

-no account expiration if you don't log in for a certain length of time

-LIVE CUSTOMER CARE (this is HUGE if you ever run into a problem or use the account for business or important things.

    -mail forwarding

-Create disposable email addresses when you don't want to give out your primary address. Messages sent to these addresses are delivered to your Inbox or to any folder you designate.

    It's currently $19.99 a year. (8/23/2012)

    :)
