    Hi All,

I am writing to query on how I would request access logs for my hotmail account. specifically i would like:

    1. To know what IP addresses have been used to access my account in the last 48 hours
    2. To know when certain security information has been changed and from what IP addresses

Ok thank you for the reply.

I have contacted hotmail via the secure@microsoft.com email.

I am under the impression I can access the information I would like under the Data Protection Act.

    Is this correct?

    Regards,

    Keeley

    Hi Keeley,

I am not a lawyer and can not provide legal advice. That said...

Are you in the UK? Here is some general information on the data protection act.

Generally speaking there is limited support for free email accounts and I doubt you can convince Microsoft to provide mail logs related to your email account.

You may be able to get an IP address login history by posting here.

If there has been a a crime, or suspected crime, contact your local law enforcement to get their opinion.
