No sending when out of country

I am in Leh, India. The hotel's server will not recognize my outgoing.verizon.net. Their IT person does not know what the correct address I need to enter. Is there any way of finding the correct settings so I can send? Messages are piling up in my outgoing mail box.
I am using gmail as a temporary (I hope) solution.:confused:

Hello,

What port are you using? Port 25 might be blocked at the hotel. Try switching from port 25 to 587 in your settings.
