How do I move the email from my old email account that will be closing to my Hotmail account?

I'd go to your Options and use the "import email accounts" feature to copy email to Hotmail.

If for some reason that doesn't work with your old email service, configure both email accounts in a mail client on your computer, such as Mozilla Thunderbird, and then select-all copy & paste the old email to the new account.
