According to the MDaemon docs there is spam filtering that can be enabled - Mail Server | MDaemon Messaging Server | Email Security

There should be something you can do with that feature to tag or better filter spam email to users Junk Email folders.

For RBL's I recommend Spamhaus Zen and the Invaluement RBL's

Spamhaus is well known and trusted by many services. Invaluement is lesser known but the only other set of RBL's that I trust to do up front SMTP time rejections instead of being part of a more resource intensive content scoring system deeper within a system.

Direct queries for Spamhaus Zen from a small server are free. There are several other free RBL's too but they typically have higher false positive rates.
