Good day, I have been receiving emails from my own email address. This is an issue because I did not send them to myself, it is spam junk mail. I cannot go through the block procedure to stop them as it says I cannot block my own email. I have changed my password since the 1st of these emails. I tried to search for answers to stop this from happening. No success besides chaining my password because my account was compromised somehow.

How to I stop this from happening besides changing my password because this does not work? The report abuse link at the bottom of my email page is not the route to take as I have tried. I like Hotmail and use it as my primary email. I hope I can resolve this issue soon. I believe this is happening at least once a week and not from the same company. I have attached the picture of the email I received. Thank you!

    Hi checker,

Getting spam From: your own email address is a spammer tactic to help get their email past spam filters.

Who is your email service provider?

I don't recommend blocking From: your own email address, though I do agree with you it that it technically should be allowed if you really want to block From: your own email address.

Do you have your own domain name? Can you enable SPF?

If you are getting bounces back to your email address that's called a Joe Job, but in this case it appears to be spam From: you direct to your account, not bounces back at your account due to a spammer having used your email address as the From: on one of their spam blasts.
