It depends on the context a bit.
If you are using IMAP and delete the email it might still be in the Trash folder until it expires or you manually delete from there.
If you are using POP3 without "leave a copy of mail on the server" enabled then the email shouldn't be in your account anymore.
Even after deleting all accessible traces of an email, it's likely there are still copies that are retrievable by an account restore or subpoena request to Microsoft.
All of the above doesn't eliminate the possibility of the sender and their email service still having copies of the email too.
