computer is off and not sign on but mail is being sent from account

My wife is having an email problem that no one has been able to answered at yahoo.?

How can bulk email be sent from her yahoo account when she is not signed on and her computer is off. This has happen twice in the last month. the first time it sent her entire contact list. thats how we found out about it when the older email addresses bounced. the second time it sent out to emails that are not on the contact list and to people we did not know.

It's possible that the email is being sent from a friends computer. The best way to figure this out is to look at the full email headers from two emails. If you reply with the full email headers from both one of the spams and also send a test email from her computer to example@emailquestions.com we'll be able to let you know if it's the same computer, and also help track down the other computer/ISP to contact if there is a second computer involved.
