Email attachments can not be trusted, even when they are coming from people in your contact list. Sometimes viruses or spammers will send malicious attachments to all of the people listed in the address book on your friends computer. The best approach is to always think before clicking. Were you expecting the email attachment? If not don't open it. If you were expecting it you should still scan it for viruses before downloading and opening the attachment. Don't be that person that opens the virus and starts a virus outbreak at your company! ;)
