Changing from Yahoo to Gmail

Hello everyone,

I've used the search engine but didn't quite find topics related to my question.

I want to change my current Yahoo e-mail adresse into a Gmail one, but Yahoo deactivates accounts which are inactive for 3 months.
My question is, if I transfer all my mails and contacts and so on into Gmail and check Gmail every now and then, will Yahoo still deactive my account because I'm not actually visiting Yahoo, although I receive the same e-mails?

I just like the Gmail user interface more and it's ad-free, plus it's easier to attach files with my Google Drive account.

Yes, Yahoo will eventually suspend and then delete your Yahoo Mail account if you don't login with a web browser.

I recommend setting a reminder and logging into Yahoo Mail once a month.
