Can't file mail in folders

When I hold the cursor over the "move to folder" icon, the folders appear for less than 1 second and then disappear. This has happened a few times in the past, but today I cannot file anything. Seems to have something to do with the ads flashing on the side. How can I resume moving my mail to folders??
