What are your thoughts on buying software to handle subscribes & unsubscribes as well as the interface for making newsletters.

    2. Renting an SMTP service.

    Are any of these legit?

We've heard that a lot of the SMTP services use IP's from different countries.

    Thanks in advance

Sending to quality email lists and sending from quality newsletter services will help.

Using a newsletter service is generally going to be better than both an application on your computer and/or using a dedicated SMTP service.

Some email newsletter services to try are Constant Contact, MailChimp, and AWeber.

The reputation of an IP address matters more than the geographic location of an IP address.

Sending targeted emails only to email address that want your email, and interact with it, is most important.

By interacting I mean your recipients are opening the email, clicking a link within the email, etc.

The big services monitor activity and recipients that delete the email without interacting can have a negative impact on your deliverability.
