To configure access to an AOL My eAddress account try these settings:

incoming mail server (IMAP) - imap.aol.com

outgoing mail server (SMTP) - smtp.aol.com

Login username - your full AOL eAddress such as username@example.com

The outgoing mail server requires authentication and runs on port 465 (not 25)

That's correct. You can use port 465 SSL, but on some ISP's, especially on ones that use a cable modem, it takes forever to send out on port 465 because of port 465's security encryption requirements, so I use port 587 instead.

Forgot to mention, you are correct again on not using port 25. Port 25 is usually restricted by your ISP to their mail servers only.
