Which email service do you use?
Change your password, enable 2 factor authentication (if your email service offers that feature), and run a security scan on your computer.
It's also a good idea to check all of your account settings and look for anything that doesn't make sense such as a forwarding email address that you don't recognize or security questions & answers that you did not create.
