I had trouble logging into my yahoo account a couple of days ago. Eventually a message appeared that said my account had been closed and all emails deleted because I either requested that to happen or had not used the account for four months. I used it every day....it was my personal and business go to account. 15 YEARS OF HISTORY all in neat sub-folders...I immediately contacted them after exhaustive search to get a phone number and they said they would try to restore but only have a small window...I filled out the form but said they could not retrieve because they only had a small window. When did that window expire I asked...they did not know.

It is bad enough to endure the frequent freeze due to huge ad downloads but just delete all that data? I am crushed..I had so much in there.

If you depend on Yahoo -- RUN. Never again for the rest of my life. Good bye Yahoo - Hello Google...used them for 3 years too and they are great.

    Hi Pete,

Yes, it sounds like your account many have been hacked or phished but from what you are saying you already contacted Yahoo and they can not help since the account was closed for too long.

It's a long shot, but here are some Yahoo account recovery steps, it's possible that you may hit a more knowledgeable support person who can help you :

Warning: A Gmail account is a free email account with similar support issues that a Yahoo account has. If you are worried about the loss of your email at the very least you should backup your Gmail, but even better would be to buy your own domain name and get professional support for your email addresses.
