sorry i'm wrong the mail format is not elm but eml!

that are unix alternatives for the unix elm client but if unix doesn't use anymore elm client does that also mean elm format will not be used anymore as import/export format in windows email clients? maybe a stupid question because it's impossible to look in the future.

I've read there are idea's of integration of thunderbird with LibreOffice(the document foundation) but it could be document foundation fork a platform from thunderbird like it developped openoffice

is thunderbird death or will there still be development by a third party?

I'm not yet using thunderbird but the search function is important for me therefore I'm asking info. Maybe thunderbird is using a global search function and searches immediatelaty in all the fields and all the folders which takes a longer time?

can you specify subject or from or subfolder in thunderbird search function? is the search function via edit->search messages?

It's ok.i've found my folders n my export result.They were exported under a folder called with a special name "imported 21a"

Is it possible to export messages from folders from windows live mail to import them in local folders in windows mail windows 8? Will the folders be created automaticalliy in windows mail? Must de messages be exported in exchange format?
