Default How to create a virtual domain in qmail

Hello,

The /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains file is used to control virtual domains in qmail.

Within this file you have a few options, for example:

To manage a the virtual domain domain.com from the local account bob within the virtualdomains file create the line:

domain.com:bob

Then within the bob home directory you can sue .qmail files, including .qmail-default, to configure what should happen with mail to users within domain.com.

To create a 1-1 domain alias you would use a line like:

domain.com:realdomain.com

This means that any mail to [email address] would be automatically aliased to [email address].

A commonly used virtual domain manager for qmail is the vpopmail package.

For help using virtual domains or vpopmail please create a new thread in our free qmail support forum.
