Default e mail settings changed to a mobile account - hotmail seamonkey

I have had the same e-mail account with Hotmail for 3 years. I used friends computers until I got on line this spring. My operating system is Linnux. It worked great for the first couple of weeks, then, when I opened my e-mail through windows sign in, my account started coming up as a mobile account, like you would get on a cell phone. Not many options; I couldn't ad or delete contacts, send multiple forwards, or get details from some senders. If I signed in through my bookmarks it came up normal, but after 2 1/2 days this changed to a mobile setting, too. Any ideas?

What link do you go to when you don't use your bookmark?

Does it work OK if you use the main Hotmail login page: https://login.live.com/

Thank you for your response. I tried the link you suggested, and have tried Hotmail sign in. My bookmark is Windows live Hotmail. All of these links worked for two weeks. Now none of them will bring up a normal email. I can still get my basic mail, but don't have many options, and can't open any details on some mail.
I discovered that when I log in on another computer, my e mail is normal, so the problem may be with Linnux.

What happens if you try a different web browser?

Do you still get the mobile? (it's more likely to be an account or them seeing you're a Linux user)

Does it work OK with the other web browser? (it's more likely there is a problem within the original web browser)

If the second web browser works OK try some of these steps in the first web browsers :

How to troubleshoot hotmail problems including blank pages and login redirects

Thank for your response. My browser is SeaMonkey (I think). I am still in the learning stages of the internet world, but am teachable. How do I change browsers? I don't get to check my email every day, but will try what you suggest when I do. Many thanks!

Was your Hotmail account upgraded right before the problem started?

New Windows Live Hotmail Features

Is it possible that this problem has resolved itself during the upgrade process for your account?

Are you running the latest version of SeaMonkey?

Try the user agent switcher : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/59/

If new new Hotmail is incorrectly detecting you as a mobile user try changing your user agent to something more common such as Firefox/3.5

If that does not work how about using POP3 to access your Hotmail until your mail program is properly detected by Hotmail?

How do I configure my Hotmail or MSN email account to work with POP3?

I downloaded SeaMonkey and created the following guide that works to fix the problem :
