email messages failed delivery

Chris Arber

New Email
Hallo,

(I originally sent the below to my "postmaster", evidently non-existent as a person! I am on hotmail: chrisarber@hotmail.com)

I do not understand why I have been getting most of my emails sent back as failing to be delivered during the last 4 days. These are all people whom I normally email very frequently, often on a daily basis. Many of them are to the address ending @bradford.ac.uk , but by no means all of them. There is a range of other email addresses.

This has never happened to me before.

Is there a general problem with some isp/domain email provider addresses at the moment?

Is there a general problem with Windows Hotmail getting emails out currently?

Or is there a problem with my own computer or my status with Windows Hotmail?

Please can you help to enlighten me , and tell me what further steps if any I should be taking to enable all my emails to be delivered.

With Thanks,

Chris Arber

Hi Chris,

Can you post a complete and full example bounce message that you are receiving back when sending to your contacts?

Try changing your password and security questions. It's possible someone else had access and was sending spam from your account.

Most likely it's a problem you'll just need to wait out but with the info from the first part of my reply and changing your password a problem might get fixed for you.

Dear Raymond,

Thanks very much for your reply. It is great to have some experts to turn to in these matters.

For the moment the problem has solved itself, becos the group emailing I did (a group created by me = trustees of a peace library, having different email `@.... endings) is now working again. So I'll not send you a sample.

However from your advice to someone else I will consider changing my email to gmail , since hotmail seems to have these problems. A friend told me University of Bradford (bradford.ac.uk ) was blocking Hotmail.

Thanks again for your help.
