POP and Yahoo Mail

Yes, I searched the threads and enjoyed this:

It depends on how much you feel like tinkering with it.
YPOPS is nifty if it works for you, but there are a lot of people it simply does not work for.
In all honesty, if you want free pop3 access you should probably get a Gmail account.

I'm one of the lucky people that got switched over from AT&T webmail to Yahoo mail some months back. I didn't realize at the time that I was loosing POP access (this is a major, major disappointment).

I've got 1400 messages left in Yahoo Mail that I would like to download, then I'll happily make other arrangements.

Is there any way to get my mail off your server?

BTW: I went to lookup what Yahoo Mailplus would cost (just to recover my existing mail). Every link involving Mailplus goes nowhere (just another little bit of happiness).

Hello,

Email Questions is an independent email help forum. We are not part of Yahoo.

That said, have you tried YPOPS? It's third party software that's also not provided by Yahoo (or us), and the honest answer is that yes it's correct that it does not work for everyone. It's still worth giving it a try. I'm glad you enjoyed the above comment. :)

If YPOPS does not work and you want the Yahoo Plus upgrade it's $19.99/yr.

Here is the current info for Yahoo Mail Plus.

:welcome: to Email Questions! -Raymond

While I greatly appreciate your politeness, I'm somewhat upset by the fact that there is no way to contact those actually responsible for Yahoo Mail directly. "Oh no, we didn't create a piece of crap... there are user support groups,dammit... I think I need to update my resume."

I'm sorry, but anything associated with AT&T has become a whirling vortex of suck.

Hey Ray,

Just a quick note to say "Thanks" and that this worked.

...and I did give myself a slap to the back of the head for not finding this tidbit of information myself (I did look).

Sorry for the delay in replying. I tend to walk away from things that tick me off and only come back to them when I'm good and ready. :)

Thanks again, -mark
