I am sorry if it's mentioned somewhere but I couldn't find anywhere how to delete a thread started by me.

Is it? I can edit a post (not a thread started by me) within this time but could NOT delete it.

The standard...
  • Members can edit posts with a time factor or no time factor, the forum decides this.
  • Author of thread can edit with time factor or no time factor, the forum decides this.
  • Author of thread can't delete the thread, deleting the thread would delete every post & this responsibility should only be with the forum.

edit: I see the post you "deleted" now. There is a 30 minute time limit to edit posts.
That post is deleted now. Who did this?
Thus, I only can edit a post and not DELETE a post?

edit: Checked. I can't find a delete button.

That was me, the post that said "<text deleted>" or something like that I removed from the discussion.

Are you confirming that you can add to a post created years ago at the page I linked to above?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Is there an old post that you want to edit or delete?

Sigh. No, I don't want to edit or delete an OLD post. Sorry, English is not my natural language.

Sometimes when I reply to a thread/post I find out that (within 30 minutes) the answer is mistaken. Then I can't delete the post, only edit it with nononse text.

I think I understand now, thanks for helping to clarify :)

You would like the ability to delete new posts within that initial 30 minutes?

Yes!! And don't say that's not possible.

No problem, I'm fine with that. I turned it on for established members such as yourself.

You should be able to delete a new post, but not an old post made more than 30 minutes ago.

What if the new post is the 1st post in the thread, there might be other posts that follow the 1st post.

For the moment I'm putting trust in established members to make good decisions and not delete threads < 30 minutes old that generated additional conversation.

Honestly, I don't see it being a frequent problem where a good new thread is deleted fast. Worst case someone else can start it back up.
