I have several accounts with mail.com. As near as I can tell, all of them have stopped sending mail to all hotmail accounts. I get the following message:

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of
its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address
failed:

"jxxxxxxx@hotmail.com":
SMTP error from remote server after MAIL command:
host: mx3.hotmail.com
OU-001 (BAY004-MC6F16) Unfortunately, messages from 82.165.159.130 weren't sent.

Please help. Thanks!

Yes, this appears to be a Hotmail error code indicating that 82.165.159.130 is not allowed to send to Hotmail.

It's not too surprising since the mail.com (GMX) IP address you listed doesn't have a good sender score.

So, what does this mean? You confirmed that there is a problem but you didn't offer any solution. Does it mean that Hotmail has written off all mail.com accounts forever? Does it mean that I need to write everyone using hotmail and tell them to change to another server so that I can use mail.com? Does it mean I need to write mail.com and tell them to settle their differences with hotmail so that I can use their service? I'm not trying to be smart, I just need more information from you. Thanks.

I forwarded the issue to mail.com support. The problem is with mail.com servers sending too much spam to other email services. They need to stop the spam to fix the problem.

It's the other way around. I'd recommend that you move to a different email service, not that you tell Hotmail users who don't have have a spam problem to change their service to something worse.

The core of the problem is that the support for free mail.com accounts seemed to have slipped over the past few years.
