Hello,

Phishing, as defined by wikipedia, is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

Phishing attacks are generally in the form of an e-mail or a web site. For example, you may get an e-mail that appears to be from PayPal that asks you to go to a web site and update your account information. Unfortunately, although the site may look like PayPal and have a URL that appears to be within PayPal.com it really is a phishing site. Maybe they have a tricky domain such as PayPall.com, or maybe they have a web page that looks like PayPal and hope that you won't notice that it is not the real PayPal.com.

If you enter your information into the site it will likely be used by an unauthorized 3rd party to access your real PayPal account and steal it from you, change the password, transfer money from your bank account, and possibly leave you in a real bad situation.

Please, when reading your e-mail, always be aware of scams, and keep in mind that a legitimate web site such a your bank, your credit card company, eBay, PayPal will never ask you by e-mail to enter your personal account or other sensitive information into a web site.
